1959-1962 Voigtlander Bessamatic 35mm SLR Camera, with 3 lenses.
This is a Voigtlander Bessamatic 35mm SLR camera produced between 1959 to 1962. At the time it was a very expensive European camera and the quality shows in its lovely level of fit and finish. Due to time constraints and the fact that it falls outside of our preferred area of expertise, it’s offered un-serviced, just as we acquired it.
The camera (serial number 221363) is beautiful cosmetic condition. The viewfinder has some specks of dust but other than that it’s very clean and bright. The focus and various controls appear to work as they should and the shutter fires. That said, the slow speeds are obviously too sluggish which is typical for serviced shutters.
This camera has been in a camera collection many years, safely tucked away in a display case. The lack of wear and tear makes it obvious that it hasn’t been used for a very long time. If you’re interested in using it you should be prepared to have it serviced. I suspect aht all it probably needs is a good cleaning and a drop of oil.
The Bessamatic comes with an interchangeable coated Voigtlander 35mm Skoparex lens that looks like new. The two accessory lenses, a 4/135mm Super-Dynarex and a 3.4/35mm Skoparex also look like new. All the glass is clean and clear. There is no haze or scratches. The aperture blades and free of oil and work as they should. The two extra lenses come with front and rear caps. It also comes with a used Voigtlander box which has seen better days.
This camera is sold as is and no returns are accepted because of the aforementioned conditions.
All in all a lovely set for your collection.
