If you’ve seen our items before you’ll know that we service and sell fine prewar cameras such as Contax, Leica, Super Ikonta, Bessa RF, Rolleiflex and more. Personally I love all of these cameras but as a collector I’m also interested in other brands and models as well. With this in mind, let me introduce you to a real cult camera and a current collectable… it’s called the Olympus Pen-F.
It’s a 20-megapixel, interchangeable lens, mirrorless digital camera with class. Comparing it to historically significant prewar cameras, it’s obvious where the designers got their inspiration from. It’s not a straight copy of anything but rather a blend of 1930’s camera design cues. Although it reminds me of my 1932 Leica, which is a Leica II with factory upgrades, I also detect other styling features. But it’s not the individual details that intrigue me but rather the way the Olympus Pen-F has blended it all into a very lovely design.
If you’re not familiar with this camera, YouTube has some great reviews on it. Bottomline is that it’s a lovely little camera that you, or your significant other might enjoy on a vacation. Easy to use, easy on the eye and certain to receive admiring comments from people who see it. It’s simply a lot of fun to use. And we all deserve some fun...
There are indications that the Pen-F is now becoming hard to find, as users and collectors are buying them up. So here’s your chance to get one of your own. It’s in exceptionally fine condition and ready to use. It comes with the original box, a body cap, two batteries, a charger, a camera strap, an instruction booklet and an optional camera for owners who are endowed with larger hands.
All in all, a very enjoyable collectable camera.
By the way, the shutter count is less then 6000.
