This small lovely Ikonta camera was produced by Zeiss-Ikon in Dresden Germany before the war. It ranks as one of the smallest 6x4.5 medium format cameras ever produced and easily slips into a pockets. It uses normal 120 film to produce lovely 6x4.5 negatives and it was the little sister to the Super Ikonta A. The only difference is that this model doesn’t have a rangefinder which contributes to its slightly smaller size. Other than that, it shares all the features all the same features and its optical performance is identical. This excellent performance is due to its old world quality build and of course the superb Zeiss lens and Compur shutter.

The camera in this listing is in excellent condition. Additionally it’s been carefully cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. The quality Compur shutter works smoothly and all speeds (B & 1 sec - 1/300th) are appropriate. The slow speeds buzz along smoothly and the faster ones are clean and snappy. The lens has been cleaned inside and out and focus is smooth and accurate.

The lens is a Carl Zeiss 4.5/7,5cm (75mm) Tessar. The serial number 1385213 indicates it was produced in 1932. The Tessar is a classic design with four elements in three groups. This lens is in exceptionally fine condition and looks virtually new. There are no scratches, no cleaning marks and it’s capable of producing lovely photos with modern color and B&W films.

All in all, a wonderful little camera and a nice way to enjoy the adventure of using a vintage prewar camera.  It’s ready to use and all you’ll need to do is load your favorite film into it and you’ll be good to go.
