Superb! 1933 Art-Deco Nickel-plated Rolleicord , CLA’d, Freshly Serviced!

$ 525.00 USD

Cleaned, Lubricated & Adjusted. Ready for immediate use!

This is the desirable Art-Deco Rolleicord which features a nickel plated “basket-weave” finish. These cameras were produced in limited numbers for only three years between 1933-36. This example was built by Frank & Heidecke in prewar Germany and the serial number on the lens indicates it was produced in 1933. It’s exceptionally fine condition and whether it’s on display in your room or in your hands while you’re using it, we’re sure you’ll enjoy every minute of it.

It’s been carefully cleaned, lubricated and adjusted. Focusing is smooth and accurate. The film counter works as it should. The viewfinder has been fitted with a brand new surface coated mirror and provides a good clean view of your composition.

The quality Compur shutter works smoothly and all speeds (T, B & 1 Sec-1/300th) are appropriate. The slow speeds buzz along nicely and the faster ones are clean and snappy. It produces twelve, 6x6 exposures on readily available 120 roll-film. Everything works as it should which makes it very desirable to collectors who actually enjoy using their cameras.

The lens is a Carl Zeiss 3.5/75mm Triotar lens which is a classic Cooke design with three elements in three groups. It’s well known for the attractive rendition and has an excellent reputation in Europe for its sharp imagery combined with a lovely bokeh and soft smooth backgrounds. The glass is clean and clear. There are no scratches, no cleaning marks and it’s capable of producing lovely photos with modern color & B&W films. (As with all prewar lenses, we recommend keeping the light behind you for optimal performance.)

It comes complete with a brown leather case.

All in all, a very enjoyable freshly serviced vintage camera. Load it with your favorite film and keep it handy for that perfect shot you’ve been looking for. You know the one... the one with the perfect Ansel Adams light breaking through the dark storm clouds that leaves you wishing that you had a classic camera with you…
