In this listing we have a lovely Nikkor f2.0/50mm lens. This is a classic lens known for its excellent build quality and the lovely rendition from its high quality glass. Its optical performance should be of no surprise since its a near perfect copy of the Carl Zeiss 50mm Contax Sonnar. This Nikkor lens was produced during the postwar era in Japan in which countless German designs were released to the Japanese as part of the western allies’ plan to aid their economic recovery.  Needless to say the plan was quite successful.

This lens fits all Nikon rangefinder cameras that feature a Contax rangefinder styled lens mount. (In case you’re wondering, it won’t work with a Contax camera. It will fits but you’ll find that the rangefinder will be off at closer distances.)    

This lens is in exceptionally fine condition. It’s clean and clear. The coating is perfect. There are no scratches, just a few cleaning wisps and it’s capable of producing beautiful photos with modern color and B&W films.
